I was flipping channels this afternoon and I stumbled upon an ESPN
presentation of Yonex US Open Badminton championship between Malaysian and
Indonesian doubles (men's, but I don't remember names.  I don't think
they're high in the world rankings).  Wow... a badminton match on US TV.
Okay, so it was a second rate tournament and it sure as hell wasn't live.
But the Indonesians kicked the Malaysians' butts nevertheless, so I was
happy.

Now I feel like saying good things to ESPN.  Anybody know if they have an
e-mail address?

BTW, there was a scoreboard in the background that read "UCLA -- Guest"
and there seemed to be a lot of Indonesians watching the game (L.A., hah,
no surprise).  Did anybody reading this posting watch the games live?

I also saw a badminton match yesterday, but it was the finals of the mixed
doubles, between a Danish and a Chinese pairs.  I was ecstatic too; until
my roommates came in the room and made fun of the whole thing.  I guess
badminton is not physical enough for them, and by implication, to the
rest of Americans, yet.
